Section 3 Job Training and Employment Opportunities

Mar 3, 2022

If you are wondering what Section 3 housing is and how it supports public housing residents, it is a federal program that fosters local economic development and individual self-sufficiency. As a HUD Section 3 initiative, PMHA works to ensure that low- and very low-income community members receive direct priority for employment and career growth opportunities. “Low-income” is defined as 80% or below the median income of the area. “Very low-income” is defined as 50% or below the median income of the area.

By taking advantage of specialized Section 3 training programs, eligible residents can gain valuable job skills, connect with local contractors, and achieve long-term financial stability. Contact wransom@portagehousing.org to learn more!
