Section 8 Housing Specialist

Portage Metropolitan Housing Authority seeks a Housing Specialist to assist with eligibility checks for rental assistance, complete rent calculations, enter information about program participants into a computerized database, schedule and hold meetings with applicants and participants, help prepare contracts, and review housing units for Section 8. The ideal candidate is courteous with co-workers and the public, able to handle frequent interruptions, and communicates well in both written and spoken English. Applicants will need to complete driving, drug, and background checks.

The hourly rate of pay will range from $17.67/hour – $19.44/hour, plus employer paid benefits.

Senior Maintenance Mechanic/Maintenance Mechanic

The Portage Metropolitan Housing Authority (PMHA) is seeking a full-time maintenance mechanic to perform a variety of tasks relating to the upkeep and maintenance of PMHA’s property portfolio, which includes residential and commercial buildings and grounds.

Applicants will be subject to driving, drug and background checks. Starting salary is $24.49/hour for the Senior Maintenance Mechanic and $21.31/hour for the Maintenance Mechanic, plus employer paid benefits.

Information Technology (IT) Specialist

PMHA is seeking a skilled and service-oriented IT Specialist to support our organization’s technology infrastructure, system users, and day-to-day IT operations. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a customer-focused approach, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology,  or a related field, or equivalent. Directly relevant experience will be considered in lieu of required degree.
